Generating a keen interest and high expectations the ‘Social Services, Social Entrepreneurship & Employment’ National Forum took place on 24 June and brought together representatives of state institutions and municipalities, managers, service providers and social services specialists, NGOs, service users and other stakeholders. The Forum was also attended by Luk Zelderloo, EASPD Secretary General, Victoria Tahova, Executive Director of the Agency for Quality of Social Services, Svetlana Angelova, ASA Deputy Executive Director, Kosta Bazitov, Deputy Mayor of Varna, and Georgi Georgiev, NASO President.
The first panel discussion focused on ‘Successful models – situation and challenges of social-economic development. Digitization’, involving experts and heads of various structures. During the second panel, meaningful presentations were given on ‘Highlights and challenges of developing the legal framework and support for social economy, employers and job opportunities’.
Within the Forum, various proposals were brought forward and discussed concerning legislative changes to social entrepreneurship development and the search for effective financial instruments and policies to improve the social entrepreneurship sector.
