- AGENCY FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT – VISION provides a wide range of services up to nearly 1000 clients annually through its own long-term programme for launching new and alternative models and forms of social protection for people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups. www.vision-bg.com
- EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF SERVICE PROVIDERS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES –
represents over 8,000 service provider organisations across Europe, and promotes the affairs of social firms and their umbrella associations, which provide services to approximately 35 million people with a disability. www.easpd.eu
- PLURALISTISCH PLATFORM GEHANDICAPTENZORG – PPG is one of the major Flemish umbrella organisations of service
providers in the disability sector. PPG represents 150 Flemish organisations and is competent in management matters and in the development of the local disability field. www.ppg.be
“GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- Duration 2 years: 01/01/2009 – 31/12/2010
- Aim: enforcing capacity building of service provider organisations in Bulgaria working in the disability field
- How: by strengthening and making the recently established network of NGO /GO social service providers sustainable
“OBJECTIVES”
- Training of front line staff and management (both middle and top management) on quality principles, person centred services and community based settings.
- Capacity-building of service provider organisations.
- Empowerment of local /regional/ national service providers through the development of the Bulgarian (newly established) network.
“INSTRUMENTS”
- Helpdesk to support providers – strenghten the activities – networking Desktop research on the existing social services legislative framework and its bottlenecks and challenges will be undertaken by the helpdesk that will be set up in Bulgaria.
- Training on capacity-building of service providers organisations, particularly:
- Development and management of services,Project development and management,
- Stakeholder cooperation and, Networking building,
- Lobbying activities (especially with representatives of authorities),
- Empowerment of local/regional/ national service providers by fundraising and information share.
- Twinning initiatives (10) between Flemish organisations/agencies and Bulgarian counterparts will be equally set up so that the last ones can benefit directly from the expertise, experience and knowledge existing in the sector in Flanders (and the other way around).
