On 04.05.2023 representatives of NASO took part in the Employment Forum, which was held online, organized by the European Association of Service Providers for People with Disabilities.
During the discussion various projects and initiatives were discussed, firstly the “Electronic Portfolio – Ability Profile” was presented. This is a sophisticated tool that provides improved employment opportunities for people with disabilities who are remote from the labour market. This e-portfolio is a platform through which people from these target groups can more easily find their career path.
The second topic discussed at the event was the EU Disability Package, which offers guidelines to ensure reasonable accommodation at work and reduce inequalities. Good practices for integration at work were presented and will be submitted to the European Commission to be included in the list of guidelines addressed to employers for reasonable integration.
Lighthouse Network 2023
EASPD’s Lighthouse Network was established in 2021 to encourage our members to share solutions and learn from each other. The network promotes mutual learning by bringing together EASPD members with certain expertise and others who would like to improve their knowledge and capacity.
There are two proposals this year, one is to conduct training on web accessibility, but discussion follows as to whether this training can be implemented due to budget constraints. Ingrid Pamer (BBRZ Group) proposes a study visit organised by BBRZ to Linz and Steyr (Austria) to illustrate the work of one of their members in VET and Supported Employment.
The last point of discussion was the collection of good practices from the EC to support their study on alternative employment models.
