NASO General Assembly 2019
The NASO Annual General Assembly was held at the International Hotel in Golden Sands Resort on 13 June 2019. Within the meeting’s agenda, the Board chair presented the Board’s activity report, the NASO financial statements 2018 and the draft budget 2019 and suggested discussing the strategic objectives 2019–2020. In recent years, the organization has significantly expanded its network and already has over 2,000 members across Bulgaria, and the number of its national and European partnerships has grown resulting in better support for members and taking on more commitments to improve social services development in Bulgaria. The NASO’s 2018 activities focused on the successful and active participation in the agenda of the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the EU and large-scale legislative changes in the social sector, as well as on the organization of NASO European Conference that triggered a wide response and many positive assessments. Special thanks were expressed for the active involvement of NASO members and staff. Emphasis was put on the Alliance’s short-term plans including workshops and training courses, the preparation and structuring of the training centre as well. Mr Georgiev noted that there was an extremely positive feedback about the training courses.
The meeting’s attendees expressed their mutual satisfaction with the NASO development, the results achieved during the last ten years and the national and international prestige gained. They also underlined the Alliance’s important contribution to social policies development at local and national level and its responsibility deriving from its role of intermediary between all stakeholders in the social sector.
The General Assembly approved the reports submitted and the work projects for 2019.
Within the agenda, NASO President Georgi Georgiev and EASPD Secretary General Luk Zelderloo bestowed NASO’s 10th anniversary awards upon founders, the Board members, NASO representations and its former and present team members, and other people directly associated with the organization.
The General Assembly ended with a positive mood and firm conviction that all the things we had done together as part of NASO were useful and worth putting our efforts in them.
