The event moderator was Mr Georgi Georgiev, NASO President. More than 120 attendees took part in the forum.
Initiated by social sector workers, the forum was aimed at discussing the issues concerning the future of social services personnel, such as their career development and motivation, problems, interests and development opportunities in the social sector, and at providing suggestions and solutions to the long-term development of human resources in the social services sector.
A needs analysis of social services personnel in Bulgaria was presented, based on a survey carried out among the NASO members. The survey was developed and conducted by a NASO expert team from 20 to 30 June 2017. It is disseminated through the NASO Representations in several Bulgarian regions. 400 social services specialists from the NASO network took part in the survey.
The survey and the forum marked the start of the NASO initiative aimed at creating better conditions for wage growth, training, and other forms of support for social service workers.
The NASO expert team gave presentations on human resources in the social services sector.
The forum's main topics were discussed in small groups involving all participants who formulated the major problems they faced and the possible solutions to them to help the human resources development in the social sector.
