Advisory Meeting “Social Services” in Razgrad
On May 11, 2016 in Razgrad an advisory meeting on Social Services - a joint initiative of National Alliance for Social Responsibility (NASO) and the Agency for Social Assistance (ASA), was held. The national advisory meeting is held monthly and for the second consecutive year, it provides an opportunity for social experts to discuss specific problems, provides assistance and methodological support to the service providers and teams of social services. In 2016 ASA accepted NASO’s proposal to carry out the meetings in different cities of the country.
This reception was realized with the active support of the municipal administration of Razgrad which proposed Razgrad as a location of the meeting. Mr. Erdinch Hasanov, Deputy Mayor of Razgrad, actively participated in the discussion and presented specific proposals for further improvement of social services provision with specific measures by local authorities. Janeta Association and Day Centre for People With Disabilities "Give me your hand" – NASO representations for District Razgrad, represented by Mr. Rosen Avramov and Ms Valentina Velikova, hosted and organized the meeting.
Ms. Nikolina Ivanova, Head of "Social services for adults" at the Social Assistance Agency, was answering the variety of questions. The discussion covered assessment of needs to be done by a multidisciplinary team; provision of mobile services and their mandatory registration contract with the client; work over capacity; cooperation between the two municipalities regarding provision of social services; time-off for clients of resident services and specialized institutions; the draft Law for Natural Persons and Support Measures, and others.
The meeting was carried out with great interest and active participation in the discussion on behalf of all services and municipal administrations from the district which proved how useful is the format of the meeting for social experts working directly with clients. The answers from ASA were assessed as extremely precise and thorough and the general conclusion of the participants was that ASA experts have a very professional attitude to these meetings and social teams need of methodological support.
Next advisory meeting is a part of the agenda for National Forum/Exhibition “Social services, employment and development” that will be held in Varna from June 8 to 10.
