On April 21, 2016 the representation of National Alliance for Social Responsibility (NASO) for the district of Yambol - Complex for Social Services For Children And Adults, organized a workshop on working documentation, procedures and rules for the administration and management of social services. The meeting was part of a two-day agenda of the National initiative "Stronger Together which is realized for the sixth consecutive year and during last three years is organized with the support of NASO. The slogan "Sharing best practices - a way to improve the quality of social services" unites those meetings in 2016. Atanaska Boneva, NASO representative for Yambol, Petya Markova, National Information Center of NASO and Silvia Dimitrova, director of Daycare Center for Children with Disabilities moderated the meeting.
The discussion highlighted primarily the problems and issues concerning the direct responsibilities and duties of directors, managers and heads of social services and structures. Each participant had the opportunity to ask different questions and share experience and best practices. The amendments to the Social Assistance Act were additionally discussed. Proposals for changes in the methodologies of providing Daycare Center for Children with Disabilities, Community Support Centre, and Centre for Social Rehabilitation and Integration, as well as in the field of institutional care for elderly and people with disabilities were made as well.
NASO took commitment to unite all opinions and carry out additional meetings to refine specific proposals for changes. NASO will use those in its work on the expected draft on a Law on Social Services, as well as in future workshop aimed at exchanging experience and support for improving the quality of social services. Participants expressed their assessment for the usefulness of the meeting and discussion and outlined future topics to be included in NASO workshops, part of which will continue the exchange of experience with working documentation, procedures and rules.
