Meeting with Yordan Yordanov, Mayor of Dobrich
On March 17, 2016 in the Dobrich municipality a meeting between Mr. Georgi Georgiev, President of the National Alliance for Social Responsibility (NASO) and Mr. Yordan Yordanov, Mayor of Dobrich was held. Dr. Emilia Baeva, Deputy Mayor on Humanitarian activities, the team members of Humanitarian Activities Directorate and the new representative of NASO for Dobrich– Mrs. Albena Doneva also took part in the meeting. During the discussion characterized by an extraordinary heartiness and mutual respect, Mr. Georgiev congratulated Mr. Yordaanov for his electoral success and wished him and his new team a good luck. Mr Georgiev expressed confidence that the change in Dobrich will lead to a further development of the city and that development will include the sector of social services whereby NASO may provide a partnership for the successful social development of the city as a whole, the work of the municipal administration and its social structures. Mr. Georgiev presented the mission and activities of NASO, NASO’s spheres and directions of activity, its scope, goals and objectives. Special attention was paid to international and national partnership and Dobrich inclusion in this partnership. Dobrich participation in current and future NASO activities and events was also commented.
On their behalf, Mr. Yordanov and Dr Baeva expressed their satisfaction with the opportunity to have this meeting in the beginning of their mandate. They expressed a desire and expectation to accomplish fruitful partnership and development of social policies and city as a whole, as well as better life for all citizens. Mr. Yordanov underlined the openness of the city administration to all who could contribute to the successful development of the city and for better solutions for the social sector. He expressed the expectation that NASO will be part of this development partnership and pointed out that “the doors are widely open”. Ms Baeva assessed positively the structure and development of social services so far. She emphasized the desire of the new team to focus on improving the provision of the exisiting services and structures and achieving a users’ satisfactory quality of work and social services. Some specific issues related to the implementation of various projects and services were also discussed during the meeting. The parties agreed that this discussion should continue within the upcoming 11th National Forum for Social Service Providers, which will be held on 13 and 14 April in Veliko Tarnovo, since most of them are valid for other local authorities and depend on the Government involvement and support.
