PRESIDENT OF NASO
NASO was awarded by NGOs’ webplatform
On February 4, 2016, at “Peroto” Club in the city of Sofia, the information webplatform of NGOs in Bulgaria (ngobg.info) gave its annual awards for the sixth time. The event took place with the support of the National Palace of Culture. The awards represent a recognition of the efforts of those civil society organizations on the platform, which regularly inform the readers about their activities, events, achievements, research, state their position, defend the rights of those they work for in an open and transparent way, and through the webplatform, try to attract other people to their activities. The webplatform is usually being visited by volunteers, students, pupils, teachers, lawyers, businessmen, journalists, mayors, public representatives, etc.
National Alliance for Social Responsibility (NASO) was awarded in the category “Organization with the most website views”, whereby the award was given by Lyuben Panov, director of the Bulgarian Center for Non-profit Law, who pointed out that despite the wonderful media products nasoki.bg and naso.bg, the NGOs’ webplatform visitors place NASO among the most sought after organizations. NASO was given an award by the NGOs’ platform for the third time, which is a further confirmation of the organization’s strong positions as a leading national structure.
Georgi Genchev, team leader of the NGOs’ platform staff, presented the achievements of the website in 2015 in figures. The NGOs’ database already contains more than 13 500 registered organizations. In the autumn of last year, to the more than 6000 users registered, all NGOs from the Central Register of Legal Non-profit Organizations of the Ministry of Justice were added. According to data by Gemius, the NGOs’ platform has more than 20 000 unique users per month, whereby more than 55 % of them are people with a Master’s or a PhD degree, more than 10 % are pupils, and a great number is represented by students. The pages visited on the platform are more than 100 000 monthly. The weekly bulletin reaches 6350 subscribers. In 2015, there were 390 registered volunteers looking for a cause to get involved in. These were people of different ages, professional background and interested in many various subjects.
