Training on new users consultations – primary interview, evaluation and case stages
On November 26 and 27, 2015, in Veliko Tarnovo, training on the topic “New users consultations – primary interview, evaluation and case stages”, organized by National Alliance for Social Responsibility (NASO) as part of Alliance annual program took place. The training was oriented towards capacity development of the social service providers and upgrade of the qualifications of the social service specialists in order to provide services in a more effective and qualitative way. Various social service specialists from throughout the whole country took part in the training.
The guest-lecturer was Ms. Margarita Sarieva, psychologist, certified psychotherapist, social service expert, experienced in the fields of psychological and social counseling, psychotherapy, psychopathology, psycho-diagnostics and in the performance of social services in general. Within the training, the participants became familiar with the stages of conducting a primary interview, how the skills of specialists should be developed as well as what their role was in terms of conducting a qualitative interview. Examples on increasing the motivation of users for taking advantage of social services were given. Additionally, the stages of work on cases, i.e. beginning, actual work and termination of work, as well as the interaction between team members in order to follow the decisions taken during the counseling were discussed. Methods on the right conduction of individual and team work as well as their different phases, the role of the leader and the team members, good interaction in order to conduct a good interview, choosing the right topic, the emotions of the participants were also brought to the table. Each topic was presented by paying attention to the specific needs of the target groups and various practical cases were discussed as well.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their satisfaction with the training conducted and the knowledge gained by expressing their willingness to participate in specialized trainings of NASO in the coming year as well. By the end of the current year, a further training on the topic of integrated social services will take place, whereby the 2016 annual program of NASO including new training and topics is to be expected in the following NASO’s editions.
