Bulgarian Participation on European Song Festival
The European Song Festival 2014 for people with intelectual disabilities will take place in Stockholm from May 1 to 3, 2014. The event is jointly organized by EASPD and Upplands Väsby Kommun. Talented singers from 10 European countries will participate in the contest. The Bulgarian participation is ensured with the support of NASO.
Victoria Damyanova was born in 1993 in Sofia. She sings in children vocal group since 2000 and has a lot of awards, including the award from the International Contest "Predominance of Spirit" 2013, organized by Start Fondation. With the award from this contest Victoria won NASO award to take part in the European Song Festival.
Part of the goals of the Festival are focusing on the abilities — not the disabilities, creating and presenting high quality art work by people with disabilities, creating a new and lasting network of artists related to the field of music and disability, providing new opportunities to artists with disabilities, creating awareness about the artistic creativity that people with disabilities can contribute to the wider arts community and general community, and celebrating and acknowledging the creativity of artists with disabilities.
